Vintage Books

Something I like to do when I travel is find used books in foreign languages. I love the idea of other people in different times and places reading the same book 📚 I got this Sándor PetÅ‘fi book when I was in Budapest, Hungary, a few years ago, in an antique book shop. The binding is fragile and the pages worn. But rather than a mass produced trinket I brought this home instead. PetÅ‘fi was a Hungarian poet and liberal revolutionary. He is considered Hungary’s national poet, and was one of the key figures of the Hungarian Revolution of 1848. I went to a museum about him that was not advertised for English-speaking tourists but it was one of my favorite experiences of the trip!
