Well I don’t know about you but now seems like a fantastic time to hunker down in your blanket fort, eat snacks, and get fully sucked into a book! I joke, but really, I hope you and your family and friends are faring well during this COVID-19 crisis. If you’re like me, you’re likely vacillating between anxiety and panic on one hand and totally embracing this socially acceptable to self isolate. In either case, I always turn to books for comfort!
Thanks so much for Harlequin Trade Publishing for asking me to join their March blog tour featuring some fantastic titles. I chose to read Reese Ryan’s Secret Heir Seduction!
About the Book
SECRET HEIR SEDUCTION: Discovering he’s a long-lost heir isn’t the only surprise awaiting Darius Taylor-Pratt in Royal, Texas. He’s next door to his ex after five long years. Darius broke off his red-hot relationship with designer Audra Covington without explanation. He still has regrets…and truths he’s hiding. Rekindling their flame may cost him…especially when new secrets surface to threaten their second shot at seduction.
My Thoughts
I blew through this book! This now my second Harlequin romance book and I completely understand now why so many romance readers have gotten hooked romance after reading these. They’re delectable and easy to read.
I particularly loved that both characters, despite being very successful currently, were both self-made business owners. However, there is a distinction with Audra’s pedigreed background and Darius’ lack thereof. I appreciated this dynamic and I felt that both characters were real and relatable.
I’m new to this kind of “billionaire romance” and I definitely have to be in the mood to read it because at times I definitely eye-rolled at the mentions of all the bling and expensive labels. This says more about me as a reader than anything to do with Ryan’s writing. And like the last Harlequin romance I review, I find the pacing and length a bit tricky. At certain points I wanted a bit more, however, again this same more about the format than Ryan’s abilities.
Overall, if you are looking for a fast, fun, billionaire style romance I think this novel is a great option and and will fully capture your attention!
